Transfer from nearest airports

Basel EuroAirport:
Just 15 minutes’ drive from the city centre and well served by buses, the EuroAirport boasts more than 90 direct flights within Europe, North Africa, Canada and Russia. All other destinations can be reached via intercontinental hubs or the nearby Zurich airport.

EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg is jointly operated by France and Switzerland. Freiburg was added to its name to reflect its importance for southern Germany too.

It takes just over 20 minutes to get to the city centre on bus n. 50. You can step into the bus outside the Terminal level 2 in the Swiss sector. Confirmation of your hotel or Airbnb reservation serves as a free ticket for transfer from the airport to your hotel. If you do not have a confirmation, please purchase a ticket for 3 zones at the ticket machine. There is also a connection from EuroAirport directly to the Basel Exhibition Center. Zurich Airport:

Travel by train

Basel is an international rail hub with direct ICE, IC and EC daytime and nighttime connections from Germany, Austria, Italy France and the Benelux countries.

All three of Basel’s railway stations – SBB (Switzerland), SNCF (France) and DB (Badischer Bahnhof, Germany) – are within 5 to 10 minutes of the Basel Exhibition Centre.

For guests travelling from Germany: MCH Messe Basel and "Deutsche Bahn", the leading German railway company, have long-term, fixed-price contracts, allowing congress participants to travel to and from all parts of Germany at a flat rate (as little as of EUR 49,50 for one-way).

Travel by car

A vignette (toll road sticker) is required to use the Swiss motorway network. You can purchase it for CHF 40 at all customs offices, post offices, petrol stations, garages, road traffic offices and from Basel Tourism. Once you have arrived in the city, more than 4,000 parking spaces await you in Basel’s car parks.

Another option is to purchase a visitor parking ticket for a half or full day from a Basel Public Transport ticket machine. This entitles you to park in all the spaces in the blue zone in Basel and Riehen.
